PASAM Agrumi is one of the major cooperative enterprises in the Sicilian region for growing and processing fresh, local Siracusa Lemon PGI, a crop which has gradually become one of Italy’s finest produces.

The Integrated Management System implemented by PASAM is in compliance with the highest European growing and processing standards such as DEMETER, IFS FOOD, BIO SUISSE, GLOBALG.A.P., GRASP, UNI EN ISO 9001:2015 and HACCP which all provide for our customers’ food safety. We do abide by food and health legislation and keep our employees constantly up-to-dated on growing and processing methods.

Our experience and product-efficiency, joint with the quality of our lemon, has brought the main European markets to go for the ‘femminello siracusano ‘ which we grow and process since 1986, driven by an undiminished passion.

Lemons are like an open air factory, a sustainable factory which is crucial to preserve the biodiversity in the Siracusa region. With more than 5,000 hectares of lemon groves – and counting – Siracusa can indeed be considered as a lemon capital in Europe.

We care about the environment regardless to legislation and enforcements: for us, it’s just a matter of ethics, and the lemon we produce reflects our approach to the issue.

Since 2008 we are provided with a photovoltaic installation which produces 30.000 kW which allow us to work in energetic self-sufficiency. It is part of our commitment for the Earth and our children.

Our packages

For packaging we use the classic corrugated cardboard boxes and the plastic boxes with folding sides, the Girsac nets and we supply the product either stowed or loose.
Based on the requests of our customers we can make special or customized packages.

As part of our commitment to food safety we have voluntarily adopted an internal product tracking system that allows us to identify the exact origin of each individual Pasam fruit for sale. PASAM lemons do not contain fungicides, waxes or synthetic products.

Who we turn to

We address both the Italian market and abroad, although around 65% of Pasam production is exported to Austria, Germany, Switzerland, Hungary, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, England, Denmark, Finland and Sweden.

All European countries in which the company over the years has boasted the collaboration of the most representative actors at the European GDO level as supermarkets and wholesalers (Coop, Hofer, Klaas & Kock, Kaes, Europa Frugt, Zeilberger, Eosta, Bartels & Langness, Blampin, Lyon Select, Banagrumes).
